GOOD NEWS FROM BURUNDI.

GOOD NEWS FROM BURUNDI.

Until  today, December 29, 2022 we have been in a Bible Camp of the School Bible groups from 6 provinces of Burundi. We have been teaching about how the Gospel of Kingdom of God can be practiced in schools for the transformation of the Burundian  youth. It was very impactful. We got enough time to talk with these leaders and have fellowship with them.

KARUSI AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD

KARUSI AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Hello everyone !

This is the summary of the report of the two days activities of our trip to Karusi

Day 1 : October, 13th to 16th 2022.

From the pictures

These are the 15 new facilitators of the literacy program: 10 are women and 5 are men. We want to open new literacy classes to continue to help people to know how to read and write. So that we may lead them to self developing.

This is our literacy class of Rudaraza in Buhiga commune and this is our literacy class of Mwoya in Buhiga. We also visited Gerard's school. He is doing great things in Karusi by educated many young children in Karusi. We are praying that God may provide some facilities like computers and books that the school needs.

(Gerard is one the pioneering disciples in Burundi. He is like a son for Dr Taylor and for me. Josimar Salum)

Day 2 : that is Saturday of October, 15th 2022.

We visited another literacy program in Canzikiro in Bugenyuzi commune. We did also a big School of Transformation in Gihogazi Commune where we taught almost 1000 students of different Bible clubs. Where Jeremie taught them about the Kingdom of God and Innocent taught them about how they can dream big and do small projects.

GOOD NEWS FROM KARUZI, BURUNDI

GOOD NEWS FROM KARUZI, BURUNDI

We do education and economic enterprises. We ensure that the lives of Burundians are based on the strong rock that is character as Dr Paul Taylor mentioned during his  teachings back in 2011

We target women and young people and give them education and practical skills that enable them to exploit the opportunities around them after helping them to renew their minds as stated in Romans 12:1-3: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Today, October 14, 2022, sponsored by our mentors Dr Paul Taylor and Dr Josimar Salum, we are in Karusi province (the nation of Burundi) where we are leading community transformation by educating illiterate adults who have not had the chance to sit on the school desk.

We target those who cannot read or write (as research has concluded, people with low levels of literacy are more likely to experience poorer employment opportunities and outcomes and lower earnings. as a result, they often face welfare dependency, low self-esteem and higher levels of crime).

Thereby,

1st: We unite them regardless of religion, ethnicity, and political affiliation. (Social cohesion is one of the four pillars of sustainability- Innocent Niyongabo mentioned)

2nd: We teach them to read, write and calculate numbers

3rd: Now that we have accompanied them in modular literacy   + Taught them Basic life skills (=Character and  social responsibility skills, self-care skills, love languages and change of mentality)

4th: Then we group them into loan and savings groups (ONE savings groups are the first step towards financial inclusion (it is an approach for those who cannot access banking services due to a lack of mortgage or simply because they live in remote areas where people have not grown up with the business culture) as they provide a mechanism to save money while building knowledge and financial skills. In addition, these rural savings and loan groups are owned, managed and operated by their own members, using a simple and transparent method (ONE helps them with the basic teachings of the initiation phase, the creation of groups, continuous learning, cash boxes, as well as cash booklets donation, where groups accumulate and learn to handle responsibly small amounts of money, learn to fail forward (As stated in the book of Generational Solutions) and work towards preparation of handling big projects and big money.

The following step will be to expand our effort to farming and agribusiness project to enable those people we have nurtured to grow and sustain themselves

In Thanks of ONE Community volunteer Facilitators (CVF), ONE is able to follow-up weekly activities

Current provinces: Bujumbura, Bubanza, Gitega and Karusi

Success story:

My name is Jeanine, I am from the Batwa (the indigenous excluded group of Burundi), before joining the ONE village groups, I had no hope, I felt alone and excluded, I ate once a day or no meal at all. But when the ONE representatives at the national level came to challenge us, I also felt free to join them. Today I eat, I send children to school and I have hope for a better future thanks to ONE's community transformation programs.

LEBANON TODAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2022, A SPECIAL DAY OF PRAYER. PLEASE, HELP US.

LEBANON TODAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2022, A SPECIAL DAY OF PRAYER. PLEASE, HELP US.

Dear friends, brothers and sisters,

I love you!

Greetings in the wonderful Name of Jesus.

Tonight, Sat September3, from 6pm to 9 Pm, for the first time in Lebanon, together with many churches from many Christians backgrounds and denominations, we are organizing a National Day of Prayer and Repentance in Bourj Hamoud, facing the Beirut Hall, three hundred meters away from the Beirut Port where the devastating explosion took place two years ago.

Since then, Lebanon is in a big mess still breaking from bad to worse day after day at all levels, and it seems there is no hope in the horizon.

Our only Hope is in Jesus!

In 2 Chronicles 7:14 God is calling, and we are obeying the call.

Please take a minute to join us and call upon the Lord to save us and save Lebanon.

Thousands will be assembled at 6 pm Beirut time, just to repent, pray, worship,  seek the face of God and declare unity and love to one another.

Please pray protection as we know the devil won’t be happy, and will be mocking, discouraging us, and will try to do his best to stop such an encounter.

But we trust this day there will be a breakthrough in Lebanon history.

Please join us in Faith, so the presence of God will protect us, guide and lead us.

Countless of challenges are facing us, but we are pressing on.

The Catholic TV., Nour Sat will be live broadcasting as well as many radio stations.

Maranatha, come Lord Jesus.

Pastor Said Deeb

GITEGA BATWA - TRAINING BATWA PYGMIES YOUTH AND WOMEN IN GITEGA, BURUNDI.

GITEGA BATWA - TRAINING BATWA PYGMIES YOUTH AND WOMEN IN GITEGA, BURUNDI.

First picture: This is Anitha, the student from Batwa people of Gitega that we gave the school tuition. She is with Amani (the taller one) and she is studying in an university. She is one of the very few Batwa that is studying in an university.

Anitha is progressing well with her studies and she is so thankful for what some Brazilians pastors and friends did to her.

The second picture with Jeremie Marinakiza, Gerard Ninziza, Claudine Ndayikunda and Innocent Niyongabo with Amani is the team that is in Gitega this weekend to train women and young people.

Jean Marie that is United States these days gives his testimony after he saw the pictures: “Wow! They look very clean and very smart today more than the first day I visited them. That shows the impact of the teachings we have been giving them before.”

This is a summary for what they are teaching this weekend:

When a woman is empowered, it is the family which is in turn empowered.

Approach for You-We Empowerment

Youth empowerment programs are aimed at creating healthier and higher qualities of life for underprivileged or at-risk youth and women in unfavorable countries

The five key competencies will be focused:

EDUCATION:

(1) C.H.O.I.C.E. Skills

C = C.H.O.I.C.E.S importance

H = How to Fail Forward

O = Opportunity Through Overcoming

I = Identifying Dilemmas

C = Consequences of Choices

E = Ethical Fitness

S = Seven Secrets of Ethics

(2) Positive sense of self skills (This focuses on seeing yourself through heaven’s eyes)

(3) Character skills

ECONOMY:

(1) Group work skills,

(2) Business Idea Skills and

(3) Affordable and accessible loan services (this teaching insist on importance of microfinance institutions for capital)

Global Goal: The trainings focus on empowering young people and Women in a community to help them realize their potential.

Assumption: These trainings will allow young people to improve their standard of living thanks to what they already have within their communities without expecting that people outside the community will come to provide them with financial or other support.

Target group: These trainings aim to empower young people and Women who are the engines of the economy.

Zone of Intervention: We seek to reach the rural populations of Burundi starting with certain provinces which include Bubanza, Gitega and Karusi.

The number of trainees is estimated between 250 people who are individuals, or from different local associations and cooperatives.

Performance evaluation

• After the trainings we plan to do the follow up in order to ensure that the trainees are implementing what they gain from the trainings.

• We evaluate the impact of the trainings by knowing the specific number of our trainees who have already created their own jobs either individually or through associations and see how their standards of living have been improved after the trainings.

• We will ask them testimonies about how they were able to be the solution of their community.
