Great Day July 19, 2013 in Lowell, MA. For All New England.

GLOBAL TRANSFORMATIONAL ALLIANCE & TWIN CITY RELATIONSHIP

The national flag of the Dominican Republic will be raised at the City Hall in Lowell,
Massachusetts, USA on July 19, 2013.

This historic event, as part of the Global Transformation Alliance, will establish the Twin City relationship between the city of Lowell, Massachusetts, USA and Santo Domingo East, San Pedro de Macoris and Nagua Dominican Republic.

“Once again an extraordinary opportunity knocks on the door of Lowell”, said Reverend Rafael Najem of Community Christian Fellowship. “Like the Sister City partnership formed between Lowell and Nairobi Kenya in 2009, such global connections initiate a focused effort toward awareness and cooperation in governments, economies and faith-based movements”.

The event will be attended by delegates from each of the allied cities along with other esteemed political dignitaries and members of the clergy from the Dominican Republic and Massachusetts.

Within weeks following the flag raising event, the non-profit sector in the Dominican Republic will have regular access to a warehouse located in Santo Domingo where they can obtain supplies and goods for daily living for the people in that locale.

The contents of the warehouse will be supplied from various sources through the Global Transformation Alliance.

These arrangements have resulted from agreements between political and religious leaders in these countries that support a working partnership among the two governments, the church, and the Dominican diaspora in the United States.

The Global Transformation Alliance ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the City Hall, 375 Merrimack Street, Lowell, Massachusetts 01852.
